ConCIRCLE

Assess, reuse, and keep reinforced concrete components in circulation.

ConCIRCLE develops fundamentals and digital tools to thoroughly evaluate the reuse of entire reinforced concrete components.

Project overview

ConCIRCLE at a glance

Materials diagnostics, digitalization, and AI meet a central question of the circular economy: Which existing reinforced concrete structures can be safely continued in use?

The idea

From dismantling to reuse

During the deconstruction of buildings, many reinforced concrete components are still technically usable. However, whether they can be safely reused can currently only be determined with considerable effort.

ConCIRCLE combines material diagnostics, digital methods, and AI to make this assessment more systematic and efficient.

Project goals

What ConCIRCLE wants to achieve

Methods and AI support a traceable evaluation of existing reinforced concrete structures.

The results should be transferable to real planning, dismantling, and evaluation processes.
